Investigating - valorant aim trainer

A good aim is a must-have in your skillset if you want to become good in an FPS game. In this article, we will explain the most important things that you should know in order to improve your aim with the help of online aim trainer.

Even though Valorant doesn't seem like the usual FPS games, and has ability-driven Agents, those abilities don't do much without a good aim and game knowledge.

This is your starter pack when improving your aim.

Find Your Optimal Crosshair

Aiming in FPS games is a very complicated thing. Hours in the practice field is not the only thing you have to do, but instead, it's a mixup of several elements that will add up to your aim skill. Your first duty will be to find the PERFECT crosshair for yourself.

You have 2 choices, you can either craft a crosshair yourself in the Settings - Crosshair Menu in-game, or import a pro players crosshair. Don't worry, stealing a pro player's crosshair is no shame, almost everyone is doing it. This is a very important baby step in your journey, so you should be patient with it and find your most comfortable crosshair and get used to it.

If you open your Crosshair tab in Settings, you will notice there are 3 types of crosshairs:

  • Primary - this is the MAIN crosshair that you will be using for every weapon, unscoped

  • Aim Down Sights - this is the non-sniper scope, one you get once you right-click.

  • Sniper Scope - this is the Operator / Marshall scope

  • The most common way of having them is to keep the same crosshair for the primary and ADS scopes, and a small circle with a different color for the Sniper-Scope. In order to Import someone else's crosshair, you will need to import their exported crosshair code. You do that by simply pasting the code in the import option as shown in the picture below. To help you initially we will post some suggested pro player codes:

  • TenZ - 0;s;1;P;c;5;h;0;m;1;0l;4;0o;2;0a;1;0f;0;1b;0;S;c;4;o;1

  • BoasteR - 0;s;1;P;c;1;o;1;d;1;0l;0;0o;2;0a;1;0f;0;1t;0;1l;0;1o;0;1a;0;S;c;1;o;1

  • Nagzet - 0;s;1;P;c;5;o;1;0t;1;0l;3;0a;1;0f;0;1b;0;S;o;1

  • Corey - 0;s;1;P;c;5;h;0;m;1;0l;3;0o;2;0a;1;0f;0;1b;0;S;c;4;o;1

  • After you're done and you've chosen your crosshair, take some time, and get used to it in the practice field, or in a no-stress Unrated match.

    Mouse Settings

Your aiming is closely tied to your mouse, and the crosshair settings are equally important with the mouse settings, as both of them are things you will have to adjust and get used to. If you wish to optimize all of your settings you check out our Settings Guide or TenZ's Settings if you're a fan.

The most important thing in the Mouse Settings is the DPI. Mouse sensitivity settings can be found in Valorant Settings, or if you have a gaming mouse its "inner" settings either in a form of a button on the mouse itself or in the mouse software that you will need to download. The general advice is to keep your DPI low, for example, TenZ uses 0.408 Mouse Sensitivity in the Valorant settings.

    Crosshair Placement

After finishing with the settings, it's time we started talking about the mechanics. Placing your crosshair is vital when perfecting your aim, and it's merely a habit that you will develop after some time. The difference between high-rank players and low-rank players is that low-rank players usually keep their aim at Mid-Body, and high-rank players keep it always at the Head-Height.

If you wish to learn how crouching affects crosshair placement, see our Should you stop Crouching article. How to develop this habit? There is only one answer to this, and it's practice! Hop on to practice mode, go in the open range, and make sure you keep your crosshair at the Headshot height while moving. After a while, you will get used to it, and it will get into your "muscle memory".

    Movement Is Key

Movement is as, if not more important than aim. A good aim does nothing if the movement isn't equally improved as the aim. The biggest mistake people do when shooting is that they either SIT in one place and shoot, or they MOVE constantly and Shoot. In this case, both are wrong and should be addressed properly.

This, of course, depends on the given situation. Your ideal movement when engaging an enemy should be to always MOVE and then shortly stop when shooting a few rounds, then move again, and do this until you win the duel. There is of course a lot more to this, as positioning, peeking, spraying, and counter-strafing also play a big role.

    Learn To Counter Strafe

If you're not familiar with the term counter strafing, have no worries, we got you covered. Counter-strafing is a reflex. When you are moving in a certain direction, and you suddenly spot someone, counter-strafing is to switch to the opposite direction ( towards the spotted agent ) and hit the most accurate first shot. For example, if you are moving left with your A key, and you see someone on the right, you immediately press D to move to the right and start shooting. This is essential when climbing the higher ranks.

    Improve your Recoil Control

Spraying or recoil control is a term well-known for people that switched to Valorant from CS: GO or Battlefield. Each weapon in Valorant has its recoil pattern, you can notice them going to the practice range and spraying into the wall. Improving your sprays is done by practice and with time will also get in your "muscle memory" the same as the crosshair placement.

Controlling your sprays is done by moving your mouse in the opposite direction from the one that your sprays are going to. For example, when spraying with the Vandal, the sprays will go from the crosshair point, then move to the top and slightly to the left.

You can improve it and make it more stable by moving your mouse slightly down and then right, that way your recoil will be more centered and you will get more bullets on target.

    Practice Your Mouse Movement

If you are new to FPS games, and you never really got to aim down targets with a mouse, then you will probably need some sort of an aim trainer. If you're an Anime fan, Osu is a good choice as it will improve your mouse reflexive movement, while listening to cool anime songs.

And last but not least, be patient with yourself. Improving certain aspects in your gameplay take time and practice, and are worth the time, as the reward will come into increased rank and high frags.
